IPOB Claims Responsibility For Slaughtering Herds Of Cattle In Abia Community

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said it’s security wing, the Eastern Security Network, ESN, is responsible for the killing of cows encroaching into p farmlands at Lokpanta, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The group also warned the herdsmen against àny reprisal attacks, stressing that they will no longer be allowed to do business again in the community if they embark on any attack. IPOB, in a statement on Wednesday through its spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, made available to THE WHISTLER , said the group was after terrorists who parade themselves as herdsmen to kidnap and destroy people’s farmland in the area. According to Powerful, IPOB and ESN have the responsibility to defend Igboland and keep it safe for the indigenous people and lawful residents. Court strikes out DSS suit seeking further detention of four Sunday Igboho’s aides

  Security outfit appeals against bail The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out a motion filed by the Department of the State Services (DSS) seeking further detention of four out of 12 aides of the Yoruba secessionist leader, Sunday Igboho. The motion was thrown out by the trial judge, Obiora Egwuatu, yesterday, following its dramatic withdrawal by counsel to the DSS, Mr. Idowu Awo. At the resumption of the matter when the motion was to be heard, the DSS counsel announced his decision not to go ahead with the matter. He told the court that he had filed a notice of appeal against the bail granted four out of the 12 detainees and that he would prefer to pursue the case at the Court of Appeal. Justice Egwuatu subsequently struck out the motion following the no objection by the detainees’ counsel, Mr. Sunday Adebayo.
